Protection of grapes from birds attack with the help of Honey bees
Mr. R. N. Janakiram

1st National Grassroots Innovation - 2001

A keen sense of observation can generate innovative solution. Mr Janakiraman’s technique of Honey Bee rearing in grape garden to keep birds away is one such example.
Protection of Grapes from Birds Attack with the Help of Honeybees:

In an acre, where grape cultivation was going on, honeycombs were established in 10-15 spots and apiculture was undertaken. Honeybees attacked the birds, which were attracted by grapes and drove them away.

Benefit: As the bird attacks on grape fields were repulsed, higher grape yield was released.
