Shispal (44) is a farmer and an herbal knowledge practitioner. He has been using this herbal medication, learnt from his father, for over two decades. His interest since his childhood has been in agricultural activities mainly related to sugarcane and paddy. 

The placenta typically detaches within 8-12 hours when a calf is born. If the placenta gets retained for more than 24 hours, it may lead to problems for the mother. The animal may suffer from fever, weight loss, bacterial infection, mastitis, and reduced milk production. After administration of the medicine, the animal releases the placenta within 2-4 hours, as per claims. 

The indigenous medication was evaluated with the support of the College of Veterinary & Animal Sciences, CSK HP University, Palampur. The uterine involution pattern among treated animals was found between 30 to 32 days. The treated animals did not develop metritis and helped in lochial disappearance between 2 to 20 days.
