The 2nd edition of Nagaland Innovation Expo (NIE) hosted by Kohima Science College, Jotsoma (KSCJ) was held on March 23. 

 
NIE is an annual Science and Technology competition for the state of Nagaland. 
 
The event was sponsored by department of Science and Technology with an aim to promote science and technological ideas among the students of Nagaland. The special guest for the event was Dr. Rajiv Mili from National Innovation Foundation India, Guwahati cell for NE region. 
 
Phamnya Konyak, who was a Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Ignite Awardees, was the special invitee. The programme was graced by Mongshai president Evangelical Union KSCJ while welcome address was delivered by Dr. Lily Sema, principal KSCJ. 
 
Introduction to NIE was done by Zenwang Konyak convener NIE and vote of thanks by Vibeizotuo Tetso general secretary KSCJ. In innovation expo, Yinjun C Naam won the first position for project Entada phaseoloides on shampoo making. Second position was secured by Peihauding for project microorganisms as pig feed followed by Visiezo Dahou and Khekugha Zhimomi in third position for their project Aqua Nutrient Multipurpose farm.
 
In science exhibition, the first position was bagged by Buddhiman and Bendangkokba for their project Iot based smart home. Second place went to Sedevinu Sale for project C-filter and the third position was bagged by Kupuli and Alizingla for their project height measurement using Trigonometry.
 
For poster presentation, the first position was bagged by Amit Sonar for project recognizing handwriting digits using neural network followed by Pikaho K Awomi, Trongtsali C Sangtam, Arenzungla Imsong for their work Mycoremediation and Vibeizotuo Tetso for project stellar evolution in second and third positons. 
 
The judges for these events were Dr. Rajiv mili NIF India, Thungdemo Ovung, chief scientist DiagMole, Kekunil Ltu scientist B NASTEC. The project IoT Based Smart Home was awarded people’s choice award. Other events like art and photography competition were also conducted.
