Sagar School’s shrivastava receives APJ Abdul Kalam IGNITE18 Award
Anushka Shrivastava, student of Sagar Public School, Saket Nagar, Bhopal received APJ Abdul Kalam IGNITE 2018 award by Pranab Mukherjee, former President of India in Gandhi Nagar.
The competition is organized by the National Innovation Foundation (NIF) in which over 90,000 submissions of students from 643 districts of all States and Union Territories of India were received out of which only 21 projects got selected in 2018.
This year 31 students from 11 States were awarded for their 21 ideas / innovations Anushka had submitted the project of Biodegradable Water Bottle using local material has brought fame and laurels to state with creation of eco-friendly bottle with selection at First position on innovative invention in APJ Abdul Kalam IGNITE Competition organized by National Innovation Foundation- India (NIF) in association with Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Honey Bee Network and other partners every year to promote creativity, originality and innovation amongst children.
In her eco-friendly bottle, she used two layers of coir with sphagnum moss in between with khuss inner lining.
A mixture of urad daal, jaggery and vinegar has been used as binder.
Coir makes the bottle water resistant, the moss layer acts as an insulator, and khuss layer keeps the water fresh for a long period of time.
Anushka had submitted this project work under the guidance of Shubhangi Nemade working as a PGT Biology in Sagar Public School, Saket Nagar.
Sudhir Agrawal, Chairman, Sagar Group and Pankaj Sharma, Principal, Sagar Public School, Saket Nagar have congratulated Anushka Shrivastava for her achievement and recognized the efforts of her mentor Shubhangi Nemade in bringing laurels to school.
