Mr. Anand Gogte is a technical consultant to the Pune Construction and Engineering Research Foundation and has also authored books on RCC pipes. Called Collapsible MS sleeve for joining RCC pipes, it has a mild steel plate. It is useful in saving optical fibre cables being damaged by rats. The innovator has also a Jack for two or three-wheelers, which is helpful in replacing the rear wheel without putting the vehicle into a horizontal position. He has also developed an Auto-stop water tap, which can be put at public places where ordinary taps are stolen and water is wasted. The new tap supplies water only till it is fitted in the parent unit. If it's removed from the unit, the water flow stops preventing the wastage.
