Dysentery

Paste of leaves along with black pepper is given orally- Dipali Borah, Sibsagar, Assam

Skin disease

Plant is taken as a vegetable regularly- Bablu Bediya, Hazaribag, Jharkhand

Fresh juice of aerial part is used as brain tonic73; the powder of aerial parts helps to control high blood pressure74; whole plant is diuretic69; plant paste is applied as a poultice in case of bone fracture69.‘Herbal Tea’75 is mainly indicated as a health drink. ‘Mentat’11 improves mental functions, the mental quotient, memory span, and concentration ability and stress threshold. More than three hundred patents have been found on its medicinal applications as an antidepressant76.
