The role of Information Technology and Knowledge Management (IT and KM) is very pivotal and important for an Institution like NIF, considering the huge volume of data set on innovations come from different parts of the country in different forms. Gearing up to serve a greater pool of technologies, there is need to build technical expertise either organically or by way of partnering with institutions that could offer technology know how and complement NIF’s strengths. Role of IT and Knowledge Management is key in many ways be it identification of relevant institutions, management of knowledge and information - internal and external, information security etc. The department also undertakes additional responsibilities like dissemination of information through new media platforms amongst others and also work towards striking partnerships at the International and Corporate level so as to further consolidate the important role that NIF plays in the broader innovation and entrepreneurship eco-system.
