Nim suggests a manual or digital pass code system to switch gas stoves on, thus preventingmishaps involving children.

Six years ago, Nim’s house was burned down due to an accident involving cooking gas. The family shifted to another house but Nimkept thinking about the accident and what she could do to prevent such accidents in future. When she thought about it, she realized that gas stoves were especially dangerous when there are children in the house. To prevent from children accidentally lighting gas stoves, Nim invented a pass code system for the stoves.

“I was very young when my house was burnt down but I wanted to prevent others from going through the same experience,” says Nim, who likes to help her mother in the kitchen and around the house when she is not studying.

Her father is a farmer and mother is a teacher in a nursery. Other members of her family are her grandmother, one brother and three sisters. “I want to become a teacher when I grow up. My role model is my teacher, Sirjana, who always says kind words and speaks very well,” says Nim, who likes to play badminton.
